Day 312 – Yearly Mastery

This idea, I encountered in a book called “No Fear In My Classroom”, one of the handful of books on classroom management I an currently chewing through.

The author explains the method that a fellow teacher uses to keep intellectually stimulated and feeling “alive” through learning.

This guy picks one specific topic (Russian History, Engine Repair, Forest Ecology) and endeavors to master the topic through research, study, self examination, and lectures – over the course of one year.

Every year brings with it a new topic to delve into with full passion, preventing skewed efforts, and vastly increasing your knowledge of the world.

I was thinking 2015 could me my year of Intermediate Mathematics.
